We are pleased to present another new product – FOMABROM N Chamois black-and-white paper. This photo paper in warm tones continues our highly successful retro-style product line.

FOMABROM N Chamois is suitable for fine art stylisation and various photographic motifs and genres (portraits, nudes, still lifes, landscapes, abstractions, architecture, etc.).

The photographic paper has medium optical sensitivity and is therefore suitable for enlarging and contact copying film negatives, as well as originals produced using digital technology.

FOMABROM N Chamois papers can also be used for other creative modifications: tinting, colouring, collage, etc.

FOMABROM N Chamois is a black-and-white photographic paper produced on a baryta paper base in a retro tone. The chlorobromide silver emulsion gives the resulting silver image a neutral to slightly warm tone. The paper allows for the reproduction of a very rich halftone scale and is characterised by a saturated black representation. It has medium optical sensitivity, which is suitable for enlargement and contact copying processes. This new fixed gradation (FG) paper type is primarily intended for more visually stylistic artistic photography and various photographic concepts, motifs, genres (portrait, still life, landscape, abstraction, etc.), styles, conceptions and the like. FOMABROM N chamois is manufactured on a fibre basis (DW), with a glossy (141) and matte (142) surface in one gradation – normal (N).

In fact, during the GDR era, Foma maintained an intensive exchange with Wolfen, and as far as the Foma machines could be adapted, they now produce a baryta paper with very similar characteristics.

The sensitivity is comparatively high, the image tone slightly warmer than Polygrade Cold Tone, but significantly colder than Polygrade Warm Tone. The paper is lithographic and, depending on the lithographic developer and adjustment, produces a bright ochre in the highlights.
