B+W UV filter 010 MRC Nano
MRC nano coating
Protects and filters UV light
The main purpose of a UV filter is, as with the 007 filter, to protect the lens of your camera. In addition, a UV filter blocks unwanted UV light, thus preventing a blue haze on your photos. The characteristic feature of the new T-Pro series is that the frame is made of brass, with a titanium look. The T-Pro filters are even lighter and thinner than the XS-Pro filters from B+W. Of course, this high-end T-Pro line also has an MRC nano coating, which prevents dirt, dust and grease from penetrating the filter, making it easy to clean.
In 2020 B+W introduces a completely new range of filters: the T-Pro series. The characteristic feature of this series is that the frame is made of brass, with a titanium look. The T-Pro filters are even lighter and finer than the XS-Pro filters from B+W. Of course, this top-of-the-range T-Pro line also has an MRC nano coating, which prevents dirt, dust and grease from penetrating the filter, making it easy to clean. This coating also makes the filters scratch-resistant. The filter is suitable for almost all lenses, as the mount is extremely thin, including zoom and wide-angle lenses.
The T-PRO B+W UV filter is a general-purpose transparent filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish tint of daylight. In addition to reducing unwanted blue reflections, it does not create additional coloration or contrast, and no exposure adjustment is required when using this filter. To prevent ghost images and internal reflections while ensuring a light transmission of more than 99.8%, each glass surface has several layers of anti-reflective coating. This Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) also provides greater protection to the filter substrate and helps it stay clean longer than with uncoated filters. The nano-coating associated with this filter provides an additional eighth layer compared to the MRC, improving the bead effect on contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency.
B+W filters are made of Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. This filter features a thin titanium-colored brass filter ring to minimize the risk of vignetting while improving durability and preventing blockage.
MRC nano coating
In addition to preventing scratches and dirt, the MRC nano coating also reduces reflections by up to 0.5% and stray light. This prevents so-called ghost images that can be caused by reflections from the sensor. The MRC nano coating consists of 7 layers on both sides of the glass, plus an additional layer of coating that creates a nanotechnology effect. This means that when a drop of water falls on the filter, it immediately forms a bead and slides off the filter.
B+W: First-class optical filters
Since 1947, B+W, which is part of Schneider Kreuznach, has been a leading player in the field of lens filters. Schneider was founded by Joseph Schneider in 1913 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany and since then has been developing high-quality filters for all types of photography. Today, B+W filters, which are still manufactured entirely in Germany, are absolutely in the category of first-class optical filters. In the development of the filters, strict quality control of each individual filter element is of paramount importance.
