Tetenal now offers the popular COLROTEC E-6 3 bath in a 1-litre pack because of its high colour neutrality (optimum scanning properties of the slides). The advantage: if only small quantities of developer are needed - for example in times of low capacity utilisation - the cumbersome and imprecise preparation of partial preparations is no longer necessary.

The Tetenal Colortec E-6 Colour Slide Film Processing Kit is the solution for anyone who wants to develop their own slide films quickly and easily. Although the kit is mainly intended for home use, the chemistry is of professional quality and when used correctly, the same end result is achieved as with laboratory development.

Tetenal's innovative Colortec E-6 development process consists of only three baths with an optional fourth bath: a first developer, the actual colour developer, bleach fixation and an optional stabilisation bath. The film must be rinsed for several minutes between each bath. The components are easy to mix and only need to be diluted with water to obtain the desired working solution.

The development process can only take place at a constant temperature of 38 °C and is very sensitive to temperature fluctuations. Furthermore, it is very important that the individual components never come into contact with each other, as this can significantly affect the final result (the first developer should never come into contact with the colour developer). It is therefore extremely important to rinse the film/tank and the material used thoroughly with water between the different baths. If the slide film was overexposed or underexposed, this can be compensated for by adjusting the times/temperature of the first developer. After development (three baths), the film can be treated in the fourth, optional stabilising bath, which ensures that the colours and contrast of the slide film remain constant over a long period of time.

After development, the baths produced are stored in lightproof (accordion) bottles and can be treated with an antioxidant spray such as Tetenal Protectan to maximise storage time. The biggest enemy of photochemistry is oxygen, so if oxidation can be kept to a minimum, the chemistry will last the longest. The storage time of the produced colour developer is about 6 weeks (longer with antioxidant spray) and about 12 weeks for the other baths. The storage time of opened fresh concentrate is about 24 weeks. Attention! Never mix fresh concentrate with already prepared developer to avoid contamination.

Photochemicals must not be disposed of in the public sewer system. Photochemicals that are no longer needed or can no longer be used must be taken to municipal collection points or recycling centres, where they will be disposed of properly in accordance with legal requirements.
